Why fit a roof window?
Far more natural light
Roof windows let in around twice the light of a vertical window of the same size — perfect for lofts and landings.
Ventilation & less condensation
Opening rooflights clear stale, humid air and cut condensation in bathrooms and kitchens.
Value & usable space
A bright loft room or lit extension adds genuine value and turns dead space into living space.
Why Stirling chooses F J Allan
A skylight cut into a roof is a roofing job, not a window job — the flashing and detailing around it are what keep the weather out. As qualified roofers we fit the manufacturer flashing kits correctly, so your roof window is sealed for good. Clear fixed prices, tidy work, 10-year workmanship guarantee.
Areas we cover
As well as Stirling we cover the surrounding area — nearby: Bridge of Allan · Dunblane · Bannockburn · Causewayhead. See our full velux & skylight installation service. Velux & Skylight Installation FAQs — Stirling
Do you provide velux & skylight installation in Stirling?
Yes — we cover Stirling and the surrounding towns and villages. Call for a free, no-obligation quote and a clear fixed price.
Do I need planning permission for a roof window?
Most roof windows sit within permitted development, but there are limits on how far they project and rear/front placement. We’ll advise for your property.
Can you replace my old, misted Velux?
Yes — we swap tired or leaking units for modern efficient ones and re-dress the flashing so it’s weathertight.
Will it leak?
Not when it’s fitted by roofers with the correct flashing kit. Bad flashing is exactly why DIY or non-roofer skylights leak.
Manual, electric or solar?
All are options — electric and solar are great for out-of-reach windows. We’ll talk you through what suits the room.
